Sinisikap lamang ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na panatilihing maligaya ang mga bagay kapag sinabi niyang gumagamit siya ng marijuana upang manatiling gising, sinabi ng punong tagapagpaganap noong Lunes.
Sinabi sa isang chance interbyu ng pagkatapos ng pagpapahayag ng mga parangal sa mga opisyal ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations National Organizing Council noong Lunes ng hapon, sinabi ni Duterte na "siyempre" siya ay nagbibiro lamang.
"Gusto kong kalugin ang puno sa gitna ng isang ... boring kapag wala (kung wala)," Duterte, nagsasalita sa hindi kumpletong pangungusap, sinabi sa mga reporters. "Alam mo naman ako, nagpapatawa talaga." (Alam mo ako, sinasabi ko ang mga biro)
"It's a killing activity and I think my age, ako hindi masyado kasi nagma-marijuana ako para magising, sa iba hindi na kaya," Duterte said during the event.
He then asked a reporter, "do you really believe I smoke marijuana? Do you really believe me? Using marijuana?"
The reporter said it was not for her to say.
Duterte further complained that ASEAN meetings started at 8:30 a.m., which was too early for him, and had 30-minute intervals.
"Siguro ang ASEAN secretariat ay nag-iisip na tayo ay mga scout boy?"

All of them allegedly forced law enforcement to kill them by violently resisting arrest.
